3,3-Dichloro-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-2-piperidone is an important pharmaceutical intermediate, such as it can be used to prepare apixabn derivatives. Apixabn is a small molecule selective FXa inhibitor of pyrazole derivatives. It has two binding sites for factor Xa, the 4-methoxyphenyl part in the structure of apixabn binds to the pocket of factor Xa, and the aryl lactam part binds to Xa The pocket of the factor.
