■ Description
** Hydrochloride (**Hydrochloride) is a new atypical broad-spectrum antipsychotic. It is the 2nd generation antipsychotic drug and the only antipsychotic drug that has inhibitory effect on both norepinephrine receptor (NE) and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) reuptake. It is used in the treatment of schizophrenia, and is highly effective in acute Chemicalbook or chronic, first-episode or relapsing schizophrenia, and is effective in schizophrenia-associated symptoms (including audio-visual hallucinations, delusions, lack of motivation, and social avoidance). The use of ziprasidone was found to be non-carcinogenic in animal tests on rats, rabbits, etc. Excessive dosage may be harmful to patients with impaired hepatic function, so ziprasidone should be used with caution in such patients.
